Scratch maze

We made scratch mazes they were so hard. The mos challenging bit was coding. Then i got some help by someone and it worked. The best part was getting my character.

Summer learning journey

We have have been doing the summer learning journey. i most proud of the pictures i have done.I have found most challenging is trying to make the coulers right. My next steps are making harder pictures

My Horse poem

      This week we have been learning about Kenn Nesbitt. He is a famous poet ,he does lots of funny poems. I made a poem about my horse.

The new babys

 Today we had some new baby lambs there were 2 boys and 1 girl. I got to have the girl one and i called it Snowy

The beach

 We went down the beach. On Tuesday we went down the beach me and my brother Kobe played in the water. Mum was lying in the sand I put slime stuff in her hair. It was a really fun day.

During lock down My mum did a lot of baking my brothers and I get to help. On Sunday

we made lolly cake It is sooooooooo yum! 

Riding my pony Jackson

I was riding my pony Jackson at my house my Mum made a jump out of logs and we also made a course. The next day I rode my pony back from his paddock. His paddock is just down the drive way.

day 3 of lockdown

 This morning I meet with my class on google hangout. I then had maths with my group and learnt about consecutive numbers. They are numbers like 1,2,3,4,5 or 91,92,93. They are always only 1 number apart. I thought it was fun. Then after that I draw a picture of a play ground and did my gratitude writing. I also started colouring in the pictures on our toilet paper

Day 2 of lockdown

 Today for our writing groups we were working on descriptive writing. I learnt how to make my stories sound more exciting to read.

My persuasive writing

This is my persuasive writing it is about you need to have an opinion and have in argument and evidence  . It is about whether the Olympics should go on or not. I think that it should go on because you would have a chance of going to the Olympics. You  might have chance of getting a medal. And you would have worked really hard to go. What do you think should it go on or not. We did this because the Olympics are going on right now. I learnt some of the sports and some of the Olympic peoples names.

Wacky hair day

 Today at Kaniere School we and red nose day. It was for kids with cancer. I did my friends hair Amber. I had really wacky hair my mum did it for me. All my other friends had really wacky hair to. We all got a photo and we also got a class photo.

 Today when I was picking up the horses poo at our house I found a BIG BIG slip it was very scary. We did not hear it. 

Term 2

This term we have been learning a lot of things in ruma Piwakwaka. We have been learning a song called E tu tangata with a lady called Rachel. It had a rap in it. I think it was hard and fun. We have also been doing persuasive writing. About Matariki on should it or shouldn't be a public holiday. I said it shouldn't because it would cause businesses more wages. 

We have also been doing place value in maths with Mrs Hickford. It was a little bit hard but I liked it. We have also done PE with Naomi. We have been learning about soccer. We played Simon says and we have been playing tidy your room. We have also been doing scruplt gl. We had to make a creepy alien I made one that was not that scary but funny. We have been doing kahoot we did maths and animal one the maths ones were really hard but I did my best. we have been doing google music lab were you have to beats it was really fun. We also made flax boats for our sausages is was really good my flax boat could properly hold 3 sausages. We were also taught by a health nurse how to sneeze into your elbow and cough into you elbow.  Matariki happened this term and we did some art and  it was so pretty when it was finished.

My pony

 This is my pony Jackson. He is a Shetland pony. I went to a cowboy challenge in Reefton. We did all 10 obstacles. In my class for overall I got first place

Matiriki week

 Today we made animation about Matariki. We had 3 videos to choose from. I chose the 7 kites of Matariki. We could have buddies but I worked on my own. it was a little bit hard but fun. 

And we also made flax boats by weaving the flax.  I helped 4 people do it. We used 12 pieces of flax. We helped the juniors to complete theirs.

 Today we made Matariki art. I will tell you the steps to make the Matariki art. These are the materials

2 pencil

3 scissors

4 images of a mountain

5 black paper

6 pastel chalk

7 stick on stars

8 hair spray

9 white mounting paper

10 glue stick                       

First get a image of a mountain. Second get your newsprint  and draw a  mountain  range. Thirdly cut out the mountain range. 4 get your black piece of paper and get the pastel and push up. Then get your Chromebook and find the Matariki star pattern. Lastly stick your stars on.  

Place value with Mrs Burt

 This week we did place value with Mrs Burt. We did counting with money using ones tens hundreds.

We also used ice cream sticks and made 70 with tens and ones.And we also used beans and made 70.

The big skateboard

 Today we had the worlds biggest skateboard come to Kaniere School. The people who made it names were Matt James Beaumont. The skateboard was as heavy as an elephant. The skateboard came to school because  to promote skateboarding in the Olympics.The Olympics is being held in Tokyo .

Tangrams

 Today we made tangrams. What is a tangram? A tangram is a puzzle. Have you ever made a tangram? We did it because  it helps us with spatial awareness.

Onomatopoeia ART

 All of our class is doing onomatopoeia it is art that is a word that makes a sound. The word that I did was NEIGH. It was a little bit hard and really fun. First  we cut out our words then get our backgrounds then we cut out our newspaper then glued our words on and then panted around the newspaper.

 On Monday we played snowball tag and cat and cricket it was very fun and a little bit hard.
